A Book A Day Keeps The Doubt Away

Sales are steady at one book a day, my second Bedtime Rhyme is written, and my little dreamers are growing in number. Still not rich but definitely richer in joy (and maybe caffeine).

October has been kind to me.

So far this month, I’ve been selling at the rate of at least one book a day. Yes, I’ve been checking obsessively, refreshing my Amazon dashboard like it’s the stock market.

It may not sound like much in publishing terms, but for an indie author who once thought, “hmm, maybe my sisters will buy one each,” it feels huge. Somewhere out there, every single day, a new reader is discovering my book and sharing it with their little dreamers at bedtime. That’s the kind of magic that keeps me going.

I still call this my “expensive hobby,” but now it’s one that’s paying me back in joy, confidence, and the sweetest messages from parents who tell me their kids love the rhymes. Financially speaking, it still buys more coffee than castles, but emotionally, it’s pure gold.

And the best part? I’ve just finished writing my second Bedtime Rhyme book! I've also made a list for the future ones too! The ideas are flowing, the drafts are multiplying, and my Google Docs looks like it’s been sprinkled with fairy dust (and a few typos). When I sleep, I see stanzas that are broken and massive words telling me to "FIX THIS RHYME LATER".

I can’t wait to share it with all the little dreamers who’ve already fallen in love with the first one.

Self-publishing continues to teach me patience, persistence, and the art of celebrating every tiny milestone. Because a sale, a kind review, and even a sleepy smile, are what turn a dream into something real.

So here’s to steady progress, one bedtime rhyme at a time.

Thank you to everyone reading to their little dreamers. You’re the reason I keep writing.
